Qualified Bridle Fitters' Course

Date: Theory Webinars (Eve) 5th, 6th,12th, 13th October plus one w/b 19th Oct

Object of the course:

To make available the advanced principles of the SMS recommended bridle fitting system to members of the Society of Master Saddlers (UK) Ltd and their employees and UK bridle fitters who meet the attendance criteria.  Delegates undertake assessment for the City & Guilds / SMS Certificate in Bridle Fitting and Measuring.

Criteria for attendance

Candidates must:
-    be experienced in bridle fitting (three years recommended)
-    have previously attended the Society's Introductory Course in Bridle Fitting or are experienced SMS Master Saddlers

Course Fee

SMS Members:              Course - £1,320 + VAT @ 20%        Assessment - £405 + VAT + £73 C&G Reg  
Non-members' Fee:    Course - £1,500 + VAT @ 20%        Assessment - £405 + VAT + £73 C&G Reg

(Course Fee will be split 50% between Theory & online training and Practical if practical does not run in 2021)

Course Fee Includes    Practical and theory lectures.  Theory to be run via webinars
            Access to on-line training and course cohort Facebook Group
            Course manual
            Accommodation and all meals and refreshments on practical days


Candidates will be assessed on the following procedures:
406    Nosebands, bit identification and their use
407    Bespoke bridle fitting and measuring (snaffle bridle)
408    Bridle fitting (double bridle)
409    Specialist Bridles, accessories and fault finding
411    Bridle fitting and measuring synoptic written test
